I’m so excited to announce that Drawing Blood, Molly Crabapple’s memoir and opus to the past 15 years of madness, is being released on December 1st.
As many of you know, I’ve worked with Molly since 2009, starting off as a fan and attendee of Dr. Sketchy’s, volunteering to help break down sets at the end of the session so I could hang out with her and co-conspirator, John Leavitt. I’ve spent the past six years working alongside her for a living to help build the Dr. Sketchy’s empire and assisted her with making every big, glittery art dream a gorgeous reality; this book being the last project we finished together.
Pre-orders are open now, with your pick of online outlets and brick-and-mortar stores:
We would love your support in picking up and reading this book. It also features tons of beautiful, full-colour illustrations, including this one, that I love for obvious reasons:
If you need further bribery, when you pre-order Drawing Blood at any time until December 1st, HarperCollins would like to give you a free signed bookplate via Molly (US only -sorry) Submit proof of preorder here: http://harper.hc.com/drawingblood/
There are also fancy release parties if you’re lucky enough to be around:
November 30th in Conversation with Matt Taibbi. Event starts at 7pm at powerHouse Arena, 37 Main Street Brooklyn, NY
December 2nd: A Celebration of Drawing Blood at The Slipper Room. Event at 7pm, 167 Orchard st. New York, NY.
I’ve already read the whole thing and (ignoring that the best parts are obv my parts) it is a truly beautiful book and I hope you enjoy it as well.
